Making money From Google Adsense

What is AdSense?AdSense is a Google advertising program. People write ads for products they wish to sell, Google then displays these ads on the Internet. People click on the ads that interest them and hopefully buy the product. Every time someone clicks on an ad Google gets a fee from the advertiser - whether the item sells or not, a click costs a fee.

As well as showing the ads in their search results Google also lets third parties (like yourself) show the ads on their sites, and splits the profit with them. This is good new for you, especially as there are ways to show ads without owning your own site - so it doesn't have to cost you a penny!

So How DO I Make Money From AdSense?

One of the easiest ways to start off making money from AdSense is by writing articles for other peoples sites. Sites such as Hubpages & Squidoo will share AdSense revenue with you. What these sort of sites generally do is show some AdSense ads alongside your article. Do an online search for 'adsense revenue sharing' and you will find many more. By taking this route you do not have to but web space so the only cost is your time.

You could start a blog and put AdSense ads on it, or maybe use your pre-existing blog. If you put an AdSense widget in your blog sidebar Google will automatically display ads relevant to every post. The advantage of doing this, over using someone else's site is that you get to keep all the revenue, rather than splitting it with Hubpages, Squidoo etc.

Using either of the above routes the content of your articles is very important. Some ads pay much more per click than others. For instance, ads relating to student loans, credit cards, weigh loss and debt consolidation pay well per click, whereas ads related to needlework or bee keeping don't. Therefore, even if you are an avid bee keeper you won't make money with Adsense writing about it, but you will make money writing about credit cards.

This is where most peole fall down. They write about something they like, or know about, and no one else is interested! 'Niche markets' is the key - find highly profitable ads and you will find the highest cost per click you can get paid. So how do you know which ads will pay you the most? Well if I knew that I would be a rich man - which I'm not - the fact of the matter is it comes down to research and educated guessing!

The best method I've found is to use tools, such as Spyfu, which will tell you what advertisers are paying, per click, for any keyword you type in. This does not tell you how much you will earn, but high cost ads generally pay out the highest price per click. Initially you want to be writing about subjects related to either: making money, health, weight loss, insurance or debt until you get to know the ropes. The secret is to find niches within these categories, with tools such as Spyfu, that have not been fully exploited.

In the past a lot of people found a quick way to 'write' an article was to simply copy someone else's, word for word, and submit it as their own. Most sites have got wise to this now, and it is not tolerated anymore. If you try to do this you will most likely get thrown off article sites, and Google will penalize you by not showing your ads in searches. The best way to go is to write original informative articles and you won't have a problem.

Another other option is to put AdSense on your own web space. This is generally fine if your website doesn't actually sell anything (informational sites), but if you own an online store it is likely that you will end up showing ads from your competitors, which is not good!

whichever route you decide to take there is definitely money to be made with AdSense, millions of dollars a day in fact - so why not get your share of it!
